You have just been transported back to 1959. Finding the clues and solving the puzzles, you must collect 12 artifacts that do not belong in the past. Once you find the time capsule, pace all 12 items inside and transport back to 2019.

You have one hour to escape the past!

You have been exploring the mine tunnels in and around Tamaqua. One has collapsed and you are now trapped in the Wabash Tunnel. Using real mine equipment, find the clues and solve the puzzles if you want to see the light of day before it's too late!

You have one hour to escape the Wabash.

This project is in partnership with the Raider Step-Up club at the Tamaqua High School and the Tamaqua Community Arts Center.

Back in April of 2018 Raiders Step-Up hosted a community conversation where students shared their ideas and the need for access to affordable activities. The Escape Room Project was developed with a mindful purpose in addressing the importance of a quality connection between youth and a positive adult role model. This connection has been sited as one of the best protective factors for our youth in developing pro-social adults as well as in the battle of prevention from drug and alcohol use/addiction.

Working with community partners, students from the Tamaqua Middle School gifted program and the junior national honor society, as well as, students from the Tamaqua High School and Lehigh Carbon Community College, went to work developing clues, puzzles, construction and artistic concepts for each of the escape rooms. Many students will volunteer their time during the operation of the escape room as well as invite their friends and family to challenge themselves to escape!

We invite you to take the journey with us!
