The Tamaqua Community Arts Center's first Arts Center Director, Leona Rega, announced she is moving from the area and leaving her position. Since becoming the Director in 2012, Leona transformed the Arts Center into a nationally recognized leader in the arts with special community engagement projects such as "Dear Tamaqua," "Tamaqua Has Heart," "Tamaqua Raw Aspirations," "Tamaqua Escape Room," and "Choose Happiness Mural." Leona also helped transform the arts center's neighborhood leading the Tamaqua Safety Initiative with projects such as "National Night Out" and the conversion of the "Tiki Bar" into the "Tiki Rehearsal Studio." Under her leadership The Stitch Performance Hall became a state-of-the-art performing arts venue hosting concerts, theater shows and special events.

Leona leaves a legacy--making Tamaqua a place where anyone can appreciate AND particiapte in the fine and performing arts! Make a donation and leave a message in her honor.
